Top Five...Club Monaco
I was up at Fairview Mall back in early December waiting for my son's hockey game to start at an arena close by. I wandered into Club Monaco because I honestly hadn't been in in ages. It wasn't one of my go-to store's and always found it very hit or miss. Well to say I was pleasantly surprised is a total understatement. I found so many amazing pieces I absolutely fell in love with, not limited to the incredible Ralph Lauren wrap above. I became obsessed with that piece the second I draped it over my shoulders...all the while my husband had that "don't do it" look on his face. Much to my surprise (after a dropping a few subtle hints...like texting him the photo) said wrap magically appeared under the Christmas tree, thus beginning my affair with Club Monaco.
Here are my top five picks from Club Monaco's Spring line:
Don't we all want to dress like a French girl...ahem, woman? A good start would be this gorgeous Hartford Carson Shirt. The sheer cotton is fabulous for both Spring and Summer. Such a fresh, clean look. Pair with your favourite ankle skinnies or jeans, toss on your Tod's loafers an you have yourself a classic French lady preppy look. Chic.
Straw hats were everywhere (except on my head) on my recent trip to Maui, and I think they are here to stay. I really like this Meera navy variation. Just a little different, but in keeping with the trend, and of course it still keeps the sun of your face.
Last week I posted to Instagram my love for wearing double denim. The trick, the denim's must be different shades. The Rylie light denim shirt is ideal to pair with your favourite jeans. I love how distressed it is and because of that it drapes perfectly when tucked in.
Sticking with the French girl theme is the fabulous Adriel sweater. I immediately thought of Chanel when I saw this. Perfect for layering with your favourite white tee.
A trench coat is an essential part of your Spring wardrobe. I love the length of the Yulia trench...classic. Thank goodness they are still showing it with skinny jeans. There's a lot of chatter out there on how skinnies are out...I'm so not ready to say goodbye to my skinny jeans.
P.S. Apparently this is the final word on skinny jeans...too bad - I'm not giving mine up!
