LÄTT Your Skin Shine - At Every Age

LÄTT Your Skin Shine - At Every Age

I have deep admiration for anyone who decides to dip a perfectly manicured toe into the very crowded world of skin care products (unless you’re Kim Kardashian, and then I really don’t care). I have even more admiration for the products are made with all natural ingredients by women who live locally – basically in my own neighbourhood.  For the past month I’ve been using skin care products from LÄTT (pronounced Let) SKIN that were gifted to me by the owners Carla and Stephanie, and I’ve been really impressed with the results. My skin looks fresh and firm and the fine lines that have started to plague my face (the ones you can’t even hide with the use of Instagram filters) are greatly diminished. I started feeling really good about my new regimen. Then last week, I went to The Detox Market to replace my beloved RMS Beauty concealer and the sales associate commented on how bright and smooth my skin looked, with NO makeup on!  That friends is a true testament to a really good product.  Reminder: I’m 52…bright and smooth are not adjectives that get tossed around very often at this age!

I’ve been using facial products with all natural ingredients for over five years now. Not exclusively, but I definitely try to go with an all natural product first if I find one I really like. I was gifted an assortment of Lätt Skin (@latt.skin) products all packaged in pretty glass bottles (which are great for easy recycling), including from the Timeless collection for maturing skin; toner, serum and moisturizer. The Timeless Toner ($24) made with Rose Hydrosol and Distilled Water is fabulous and fresh after you cleanse your skin using one of Lätt’s cleansers. I tried the Foaming Powdered Cleanser ($24) and the Skin Cleansing Balm ($24). I quickly fell in love with the latter. The fine kaolin clay gives delicate, maturing skin just the right amount of exfoliation while the fragrance reminds me of a stroll through an evergreen forest on a chilly day. I love the aromatherapy hit. I followed with the Timeless Serum ($30) which includes Hyaluronic Acid and Cerimide to keep your skin plump and filled with moisture, and topped it all off with the smooth and creamy Timeless Moisturizing Cream ($33). I usually only apply a serum with my nighttime routine, but because the Timeless Serum absorbs so quickly into the skin I added it to my morning regimen as well - bonus goodness never hurt a girl! At night I added the Sensitive Moisturizing Face Oil ($28) which includes Olive Squalene (I’ve been a fan of squalene for a long time) to my regimen for an extra boost of moisture and woke up in the morning looking like I had just had an eight hour long facial. Last week, I even popped the Timeless Toner in the fridge and gave my face a spritz after coming inside from the heat and humidity. It felt cool and refreshing, like a little pep talk for your skin.

If you have a specific concern or issue with your skin, no problem. Contact Lätt and they will formulate a bespoke product or products for your needs.

Many of us are married to, or at least in a very serious relationship with our skin care products, but I like mixing things up every once in awhile. And remember, you don’t have to purchase a whole line of new products all at once. This can be a costly investment if you end up not being happy with the products, although the Lätt products are priced so well you might be able to afford a whole regimen right off the bat. Or you can start slowly by adding one or two products at a time as yours run out. I know it can be best to ‘keep it in the family’ when layering your skincare, but it’s also ok to start slow and find which products work best for you. I often use products from a few different lines at the same time.

Happy Summer…and don’t forget to top up your regime with sunscreen everyday. I’m currently using Unseen Sunscreen by Supergoop!
