Mixed Tape
Did anyone ever make you a mixed tape? Just image the hours of work that went into putting all those song on to a cassette. Recording them from an album or even the radio. I was given a mixed tape once, it even had a homemade cover. What a treasure it was to be able to listen to all the music that someone chose specifically for me. It was so satisfying watching the tape scroll from reel to reel, song to song. Sadly I don’t have that cassette anymore…and if I did - long gone is my tape recorder. It certainly is nice to have the memory of that sweet Maxell full of beloved music.
We might not have cassette tapes or even CD’s anymore, but we do have Spotify. And while a mixed tape could only be shared with one special person, a Spotify playlist can be shared with the world. Talk about spreading the love. This Valentine’s Day I’ve made a Spotify playlist called Vicki’s Valentine - as my gift to you. Maybe you’ll listen while you’re driving to work, or walking the dog, or just having a nice relaxing coffee.
