I have deep respect for anyone who complies a gift guide - including myself (kidding…not kidding). A day by day guide as I’ve done in the past is not quite as easy as it looks - and it’s super time consuming. BUT it’s also been very popular and I get great feedback from it which I’m so appreciative of.
Thank you so much for coming along this twenty four day whirlwind of gift suggestions with me. If I was able to help with even a single gift on your list…then I’ve done my job.
According to the website Canadian POS “Gift cards are a popular choice of gift for every occasion….and are most heavily purchased at Christmas.” Do I think a gift card is a good choice? Yes…absolutely. In fact I was at my Mom’s nursing home this morning and one of the ladies mentioned that she really appreciated receiving a gift card for coffee over more chocolate or cookies.
You’re cutting it tight if you haven’t started your shopping yet, but I trust that most of my readers are already sitting back and relaxing with a good book, podcast and glass of wine. But just in case you’re looking of a fab bottle to take to the family dinner on Christmas day, might I suggest my current favourite;
One of my favourite wineries in the Niagara region is the 13th St. Winery. Their modern farmhouse buildings containing the tasting bar & wine boutique and farmhouse bakery have me visiting each time I’m in town for a couple of bottles of their famous ‘Burger Blend’ wines.
There’s an old Italian saying goes something like this; Se chiedi Gucci…potresti ottenere Gucci. It roughly translates to; If you ask for Gucci…you might get Gucci! Feel free to insert you favourite Italian luxury designer in place of Gucci.
I remember a girlfriend telling a very funny story about the first time her daughter put on her own makeup. She walked down the stairs from her bedroom (where she’d be for hours) excessively made up and heavily contoured - but ready to head to Grandma’s house.
Right now at this moment I’m struggling whether to post this today or wait until it’s almost too late to do any more shopping. Oh well…I suppose on Day Twenty Four there will be booze. Today it’s pizza, and other amazing Italian food. Easily giftable, right? Now it is.
If you remember back to Day One, I sent you out into the woods to make your own charcuterie board. Well today I’ll stick with the charcuterie theme and share with you one of the best gifts I’ve ever received - the Wildly Delicious Cheese Knife Set.
If you grew up in Toronto like I did, you likely identify as an East Side person or a West Side Person - meaning you grew up east of Young Street or west of Young Street. I’m a East Side girl having grown up at Greenwood & Gerrard. Anything west Yonge was foreign territory to me.
One of my favourite trips of 2019 was my ‘bff’s’ trip to Prince Edward County. I love spending time in ‘the county.’ Whether it’s exploring the many emerging wineries, lounging in the sand at Sandbanks or noshing at one of the counties amazing restaurants, PEC is at the top of my list for a weekend getaway.
