I spent a leisurely afternoon at the ROM strolling the small, but beautiful Christian Dior Exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum yesterday. The exhibit is a celebration of the 7Oth Anniversary of the House of Dior and contains many pieces worn by Toronto socialites all of which were designed between 1947 and 1957. The exhibit also includes shoes, jewellery and a display of bottles of the iconic Miss Dior perfume. I loved strolling through the gowns and listening to rounds of "I'd wear that" swirling around me. The exhibit covers day dresses, cocktail dresses and of course incredible evening gowns. I loved the original sketches that accompanied many of the dresses as well as info on the dress construction. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon with two of my dear girlfriends after a luxurious brunch at La Societe!
The exhibit is sponsored by Holt Renfew, which also happens to the first store in Toronto to carry the brand. I highly recommend this walk through fashion past, so grab your bff and take in all the gorgeousness before it ends in March.
