Dotty
It's tremendously satisfying to sit down and write about a friend who's doing something successful that helps women. In this case, Heather Bolt of Dotty is designing and making beautiful clothes. Not only beautiful, Heather's designs are comfortable and practical, while still looking sexy and stylish. Isn't that the ultimate combination? Like Heather say's "clothes that look great...but you can still take a turkey out of the oven." I added "with a toddler under your arm" - that's how easy wearing her pieces are.
When you go into Dotty on Danforth Avenue in Toronto, you're immediately at ease in adorable little shop. Heather want's you to feel great in her clothes and you can be honest totally honest with her. If I want to cover my ass...she has a piece for me. If my boobs aren't perfectly perky in one top...we'll try the next. I feel like I can be myself and pick pieces that compliment my body best. I chose two pieces (black...obvi) I I felt comfortable in and that I know I'll wear day or evening. First is the super cute Lace Sleeve Orchid Print Top. I love three quarter sleeves and the stretchy lace on this top is so easy to wear. The patter popped as soon as I put it on. It was a winner.
My second piece was the Black Long Sleeve Tunic. It hits a little longer on me that it does on the gorgeous model, so I can easily wear it as a dress with black tights and booties - like my Gracia Ankle Boots from Barcelona Collective. A black tunic is like a white shirt...it should be a basic in your wardrobe for fall and winter and it hides all your little body quirks to boot!
Keep your eyes on my Insta (@glimmerlife) for more photos from Dotty and visit the store at 236 Danforth Ave. in Toronto. Or shop online at dottydressstudio.com. If you're a fan of the One of Kind Show in Toronto, Dotty has a very popular booth there too. I'll have more deets on that as we get closer to the event.
In the mean time - live by the Dotty moto: life is short, wear a dress!
