Seeing Red

Seeing Red

Maroon, oxblood or burgundy, whichever way you slice it...it's a shade of red. And red bags are very hot right now.  A fabulous red bag can add a splash of colour to any outfit. I particularly like them in the fall and winter when they can make a dreary day a little more colourful.  If you're going to invest in a statement bag, a red one is a very good choice. So ladies...it's time to ditch black. I can't believe I even said that!

An absolute classic is the Coach Nomad Hobo $495.  A hobo is one of my favourite styles of purse.  I like that the Nomad has a short strap for over the shoulder and a long strap for cross body.  Inside you get a zip, mobile and multifunction pockets. The Nomad has a magnetic closure for easy access.

I think one of the most popular styles of bag is the tote. If you're anything like me, you don't leave the house without almost everything in your purse. A tote makes this possible while fashionable. This Faux Leather Tote in burgundy $68.00 from Nordstrom is actually reversible. So if you get tired of the red, you can simply turn it inside out and back to basic black. But I doubt you'll do that.

Red suede is so luxe isn't it? I'm completely enamoured with this brand new piece from the Stella & Dot Covet Line. The Covet Sunday Bag $258 is an adorable cross body. I love the slouchy boho look and gold details. I think this bag could easily be dressed up or down. Available for order on November 11th through my friend Stella & Dot Stylist Hailey Verity

So for those days that you're not taking the whole house with you (I suppose those days exist from some), the Manchester Cross Body from Madewell $179 is a sweet choice. I love the deep oxblood colour. It does have an interior pocket for your mobile and some space for a couple of credit cards and a lipstick. ;) It also comes in a very hot red version called Thai Chili.
