Nude Perfect

Ever since Carrie almost walked down the aisle with Big, I've loved short, nude finger nails. I spied them in a shot when she was holding her bouquet on the staircase of the New York Public Library. Not naked nails without polish, but the gorgeous shade of neutral Carrie's nails were bathed in on her ill fated day, has since mesmerized me. I've never been able to find the exact hue of creamy, pinky beige. Any Google search I've tried results in "are you serious?" Even Siri didn't have an answer for me and just suggested I watch the episode again.

A short nude nail always works. The clean and neat look is perfect for daytime, nighttime, weekend and of course they coordinate with ever outfit from suits to jeans to the gym.   I like to moisturize my nail beds and cuticles with Coconut Oil regularly after my manicures to avoid them drying out.  To keep your manicure fresh, gorgeous and long lasting, always wear gloves when using harsh cleaning products or washing dishes. Better yet...let someone else clean up and wash up. Ultimate hand protection.

Opi lacquer in Put It In Neutral is my current fave. My manicurist had tiny drop of it left and we scoured the city to find a fresh bottle.  I would describe it as a creamy pale pink and it matches nicely with my Eastern Euro toned skin.

Could you imagine being the person who names all of the nail polishes. I imagine this Essie colour swatch came up at the end of the day. "Let's go home…I'm Fed Up" said some disgruntled polish person. Fed Up is sweet choice if you like something less pink and more beige. If you're super pale, aviod Fed Up or it might give you the 'dead hands' looks. Anything remotely purple (don't wear purple anyway) gives me hands (or toes) that look like I'm three feet under. You want neutral…not dead.

I love Butter London, and who can resist a polish called Yummy Mummy?  This neutral tone is fabulous if you have a darker complexion. If you peek at the Butter London website,  it'll show you how this medium beige looks on four different skin tones.

P.S. Hands show age…so keep moisturized and stay out of the sun!
