Best in Nude...Part Deux
Since my love of nude nails is no longer a secret...let's move along to the nude lip. I love nude lips. In my twenties I was obsessed with Mac's Russian Red matte lipstick. That little tube went everywhere with me. But as I grew up, I found bright red lips no longer worked on the playground and I was drawn to more natural shades of lipstick and lipgloss. Yes...I always wear lipstick or gloss, even during my playground days. In fact...it's a very rare day that I leave the house without makeup at all. Ok...three exceptions...if I walk the dog first thing in the morning, if I'm going to pilates (even then I put on concealer) and after I've had a Laser Genesis facial. It's only until very recently that I've felt confident enough to go without makeup. I think that attitude change came with age and an overall confidence in myself. I suppose in some ways it's the gift of getting older...I don't actually care what other people think quite as much!
If you have skin on the paler side, I really like Burberry Lip Mist Natural Sheer Lipstick in Nude Honey. You can be pretty sure if it has nude in it's name it's going to work. I like the intensity of this nude shade and it's lush feel on my lips.
Dior Rouge Lip Colour in Angelique Beige is a warm nude which makes it great for all skin tones. I love the subtle chic look of this colour and fragrance is pleasant too. A second Dior option is Beige Indecise. This shade is even better on darker skin tones.
Here's your Saturday nude. Fresh Sugar Lipstick in Honey. I love everything in the Fresh line, but these Sugar Lipsticks are particularly yummy! Sugar Honey has an SPF 15, so there's no need to apply your Cherry Chapstick underneath.
I would be completely remiss if I didn't mention my love affair with Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss. I always apply this gloss over my nude lipstick for a little extra shine or I often wear it solo. My favourite's are Buff and Pink Beige and it's not uncommon for me to have several glosses on the go.
