The Shannon Passero Experience

The Shannon Passero Experience

A couple of times a year my sister-in-law and I escape our families and head down to the Niagara Region to spend the weekend with my cousins.  Normally this involves heading over the boarder to shop, but with the Canadian dollar in the dumps, we decided to stay north of the Rainbow Bridge and tour the region instead. We did keep one of our regular stops on our agenda  though…Shannon Passero The Post Office in Thorold, Ontario.   It was my first time at her newly expanded 6500 sq ft. showroom, and what an awesome shopping experience she has created.

Shannon designs, manufactures and sells two easy to wear lines herself, Neon Buddah and Pure Hand Knit. But the store is stocked with some incredible other delights from  Kut from the Kloth, Coobie (comfy cami’s and bras) and Yoga Jeans amongst many others.   I had to really pace myself and take a good look through all the gorgeous and colourful of clothing, accessories and home goods before settling into the dressing room with an almost too good to be true CP Shades plaid button down.  And yes…it’s now hanging in my closet because CP Shades happens to be a line from California, one of my favourite places.

Shannon’s philosophy for her business is simple “sell sustainable and ethically produced garments.” The warm vibe in her store exemplifies this. If I had to come up with a comparison, I suppose The Post Office would be a Canadian Anthropologie…with a wider variety of price points.   If you find yourself down in Niagara, take a little side trip to Thorold…I think you’ll love the experience.
