Simons
I took a sunny Saturday drive out to Square One in Mississauga to check out the new Simons department store. My reason for venturing out to Mississauga was Samantha Pynn's exclusive line Samantha Pynn for Maison Simons. But before I talk shopping...let me introduce you to Simons.
La Maison Simons, as it's call in it's home province of Quebec was founded by the Simon family in 1840, yes that date is correct...no typo. This store has been around for over 175 years. It almost seems hard to comprehend. They definitely have the secret to success wrapped up tight. It remained an Quebec exclusive until it's expansion into Alberta's West Edmonton Mall in 2012, followed by Ottawa's Rideau Centre, Park Royal South in Vancouver and Square One in Mississauga. The company is still family run. They must all get along. ;)
I very often buy my bedding and towels from department stores. I like the wide variety which affords me the opportunity to see different styles and compare prices all in the same place. I loved Samantha Pynn's designs for Simons, classic and beautiful for bed, bath and tabletop. One of my favourite picks is the zebra pillow in the photo above. Knowing Sam a little, I truly feel this line reflects her warm personality and of course her beauty. The line makes putting a complete look together very easy. And we all need a little easy in our lives. The full line is also available to purchase online if you can't make it out to a Simons.
Simons has a very nice range of mid to high priced fashion as well. Being a very big department store, it was difficult to see everything...but I did manage to pick out a few faves.
Starting in the "high" range is this amazing Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress. As simple and classic as it gets. I think every girl should have one DVF in her closet and Mother's Day is just around the corner. Wink wink!
I adore this Thin Knit Pure Linen Sweater. It's a great transition piece from winter to spring.
Sometimes when you're having a big booty day...all you want to do is cover it up. That's what tunics are good for. This Mock Neck Maxi Tunic looks great layered over white denim. This can be easily dressed up with a statement necklace or down with a pair of your favourite white sneaks.
