Dear Glimmer...

Dear Glimmer,

I love shopping for beauty products and feel like treating myself this weekend! Do you have any favourites that you would recommend?

Dear Product Junkie,

Join the club baby!!! I LOVE BEAUTY PRODUCTS...and I have since the Avon Lady came ringing our doorbell at 276 when I was but a wee lass. I remember two products vividly from my childhood. Mr. Bubble Bubble Bath and the Avon brooches that had a tiny perfume cream in the back of them. So awesome!

I've come a very long way since those products and definitely have a few new fave's to share with you.

I'm always on the hunt for great eye creams. I think it's so important to use one twice daily starting as early as your twenties. Fine lines can tell too many stories, so I like to keep them to a minimum. I recently tried a new Clinique product called Pep Start Eye Cream. I personally think you can put coconut oil around your eyes for awesome results, but it's a little oily when it comes to applying makeup. I like Pep Start's constancy a lot, and find it doesn't make my mascara smudge. This is my number one criteria for a good eye cream. Pep Start's claim to greatness...it hydrates, brightens and perks up your eyes. I personally like the consistency and the almost non existent Clinique fragrance. Clinique claims you can apply direct from the tube to your eyes with out involving your fingers. I tried this and it's not the best method for me...but you might like it!

My new product obsession is Bliss 'Leave it to Cleavage.' First of all...I love the name. This is not a product I would have necessarily have bought myself had I not received it in my monthly Top Box subscription. Score one for Top Box. The chest area or décolleté is delicate skin and can very easily succumb to sun damage and start looking old. This cream reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. If you've already been lying out and damaged your skin...forget it, you're out of luck. It very hard to repair this area.  This pearlescent cream is light and airy and makes your skin glow and smell fab. This is definitely a big treat! And who doesn't love a silky smooth décolleté?

I've always been afraid of adding any kind of oils to my hair. I have superfine Polish locks and weighing my hair down with heavy conditioners is the enemy. But, also in a recent Top Box I received Avon (yes, Avon...like the perfume brooches above) Advance Techniques Moroccan Argan Oil Leave in Treatment (for all hair types). Ugh, I thought...being the hair product skeptic that I am. Then I tried it. It made my hair look healthy and gorgeous. Together with my Dry Bar blow out brush, I suddenly had this toss around, great hair. Clearly it was ready for a good nourishing. Best part...this is 10 dollar product!  Check out the Avon website and they should be able to hook you up with an Avon Lady...although my guess it they do not like being call that any more. :)

Shiny, soft windblown hair...and a smooth décolletage. ;)

And lastly, while not a new product for me, I will recommend Bourgeois Paris's Gel Foundation. I wear foundation. Not afraid to admit it. But, like most people I find it can be difficult to apply so that it looks natural. I have never had a problem with this product. I like to mix it with my moisturizer (or sunscreen) to create my own little BB Cream. It's light and applies to a smooth finish. You can pick it up at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Happy Beatuy Product shopping...I'm jealous!

P.S. I just received my July Top Box and am super excited. 5 awesome items including a baby Pep Start! Bellapierre Gel Lip Liner in Cinnamon is a perfect colour for me, so is the bareMinerals Marvellous Moxie Lipgloss in Rebel. If you haven't subscribed to Top Box yet...be sure to check it out if you're a beauty junkie like moi!
