Dear Glimmer...
Dear Glimmer,
Now that the weather has changed from summer to fall, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on scarves and the latest scarf trends.
Thanks so much,
Ready for Scarf Weather
Dear Scarf Weather,
This question is killing me a little. Not because I don't love scarves...I LOVE scarves and I have tons of them, from warm weather scarfs (yes, there are such things) to cold weather scarfs. But because the biggest "trend" in scarves right now happens to be the 'blanket scarf' trend. I don't particularly love this scarf for myself, but I'm seeing it everywhere, so it's relevant.
Scarves are amazing...especially as you hit your mid 40's and your neck no longer looks like you're in your twenties. The skin on the neck is a dead giveaway of age, but luckily scarves cover up your neck area beautifully. I'll admit that there is one positive from me to the blanket scarf trend. Because the scarves are so huge, they're really warm and can definitely double as wraps allowing you to wear a lighter coat longer into the season. I like this as I'm not a fan of the great big winter parka's we need here in Toronto in the winter. The addition of a blanket scarf to your lighter coat keeps you toasty warm for longer.
Blanket scarves can be a little daunting to style because of their size, but I found a great tutorial video that you should watch. I'm not getting into video demo's yet...still looking for someone to tape me without us bursting into laughter during filiming - sorry, I digress. Anyway, I've also included a photo demonstration for the blanket scarf for your referral and a few of my favourites.
Good luck! And if you decide this trend isn't for you...at least you have a cozy throw to curl up in during your fave chick flick this winter!
